Because this matter is such an important point of all Christian doctrine, I will repeat it once again:
We do not follow after the first Adam,
but after the Second Adam, which is Christ Jesus the Lord. Amen.
And the marriage model given to us Christians is in Ephesians 5:22-25.
To wit, as it is written,
"Wives,
submit yourselves unto your own husbands,
as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife,
even as Christ is the head of the church:
and he is the saviour of the body.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ,
so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
"Husbands,
love your wives,
even as Christ also loved the church,
and gave himself for it".
(Ephesians 5:22-25.)
That passage does not say a single thing about following the marriage of the first Adam.
Now, while it is true that some will try to "jump on" the singular application of the word, "church", in Verse 25 there, in their trying to point out a supposed concept that Christ supposedly has only one, singular "bride". But to do that is to be based on mere supposition without foundation, when comparing to the polygamous marital description of "five wise virgins" marrying Christ in the "Parable of the Ten Virgins", in Matthew 25:1-13. All of us who are Christ's are His, not one single to the exclusion of others.
The Apostle Paul explained, as it is written,
"I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ."
(2_Corinthians 11:2b-c.)
And as it is written in another place,
"But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit."
(1_Corinthians 6:17.)
So, clearly, Ephesians 5:22-25 exhorts profound love with which a husband, following as after the model of Christ Himself, is to so love his wives, as selflessly and givingly as Christ Jesus so loved and loves ALL His Churches ---that's clearly a plural matter!
So anyway, as such, Ephesians 5:22-25 calls men to follow after the model of being as the Second Adam, which is Christ.
This marriage model for Christian men is a spiritual high calling (not in the flesh at all!) to so profoundly love wives as selflessly and givingly as the Lord Jesus Christ loves the churches.
And wives are therein spiritually called to be in their marriages as though they are the churches being unto Christ, joyfully and willfully receptive to their husband, as their husband is supposed to be walking as though he is being as Christ Himself being married to those wives. Wives therein are NOT being called to follow after Eve's example (although each month, wives receive God's "monthly reminder" of Genesis 3:16 for what Eve did).
This marriage model of Ephesians 5:22-25 is a spiritual instruction for Christian marriages, not one of the flesh or earth as after an Adam (the first Adam) and Eve.
It is a calling after the Second Adam, which is Christ,
and not having anything to do with following after the first Adam, who brought in death by sin.
The Second Adam, which is Christ, has paid the price, bought with His own Blood, our freedom from the wages of sin which is death. Hallelujah!
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin: that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
(2_Corinthians 5:21.)
Alleluia Hallelujah!
So, if we look at this marriage model as after the Second Adam, which is Christ, we see that Ephesians 5:22-25 is quite clear about God's "plan" for marriage, without regard for any so-called "original" plan, as some might mis-perceive regarding the first Adam (and with Eve) in the garden of Eden.
