On June 10, 2008, Mark Henkel, the Founder of the TruthBearer.org organization, appeared as a guest on the men's talk and entertainment radio program, 1560 The Game, with syndicated columnist Ken Hoffman and his co-host David Nuño. The interview was an entertaining discussion, one which was obviously directed with a humorous perspective toward men in general.

Upon hearing that Mr. Henkel was from Old Orchard Beach, Maine, the host exclaimed, "That's the most beautiful place in the world." Mr. Henkel replied, "It is. I love it."
The exchange continued, as the host then asked, "Now, is there a polygamy compound up there?"
"No. "
"Ok , not at all," the host stated, reassured.
Mr. Henkel replied, "No. In fact, it doesn't require being in a compound to be polygamy. The National Polygamy Rights Movement for consenting adults -nationally, polygamists around the country - very often may be the only polygamous family in their town,or city, or suburb."
Later, the host repeated the standard LDS disclaimer that the "mainstream" Mormon institution has officially rejected polygamy. Mr. Henkel replied using one his well-known sound-bites, "Well, those in political power of the Mormon church chose to do so. But ironically speaking, Mormonism - when you understand the theology of what that religion believes - Mormonism without Mormon Polygamy is like Christianity without Christ. It's just not possible. And technically speaking, it is the fundamentalist who are pure to the original religion, if one's going to believe in Mormonism, which I myself do not believe at all.
In another exchange, the host openly declared, "I'll tell you one thing I agree with you on. If someone wants t have three wives, God bless ya. Go forth and multiply, divided, addition, whatever you want - it's none of my business."
Mr. Henkel later explained, "Hugh Hefner has a show called 'Girl's Next Door' with three girlfriends. And it's ok for a man to have three live-in girlfriends portyayed as that situation, a story. But let a person cross the line to be responsible, saying - 'You know what? I really care about these women. I want to make a commitment. I want to be bonded and we make a consenting adult choice to do so.' Suddenly that becomes a crime." Mr. Henkel then took that point to its conclusion with his sound-bite, saying, "And anyone who thinks that that's acceptable, frankly, one would have to say is too intellectually incompetent to be allowed to vote!"
In yet another exchange, the host said, "Let's say you're married to five women. You go out and you say, 'Honey, I'm going to be at the office all night working.' You come home and it's obvious that you were at the adult men's club, ok? Does the first wife yell at you? And then when you're done, you gotta go get it from number 2, you gotta hear it from number 3, and then you gotta hear it from number 4. Do they all gang up on you?"
Mr. Henkel replied, "Well, I don't know about the whole adult men's club, but certainly, intellectually, with smart America women, a guy is not going to be able to be a jerk, because they are going to gang up on him. Exactly. But the point is, if you're an idiot, if you think women are nothing more than a sum of their bodyparts, if you're a fool, you're not going to stay married polygamous in the first place. You really got to grow up and care about women. Otherwise, the women are going to gang up or their going to leave."
Mr. Henkel later explained, "It's about building security in the woman's emotion, and her knowing that she's safe, that her marriage is not in jeopardy. If you're making it out to be like a competitive situation, you're not building her confidence. If anything, you're weakening that, and therefore you're not going to be polygamous. You really gotta be emphasizing the confidence."
Mr. Henkel, while enjoying times of entertaining laughter with the host, also fielded questions about jealousy, his explanation that corporate-dissolution law can apply to polygamous divorce, how families might "recruit" for a second wife, is polygamy fun, and is there a lot of sex.
In closing the interview, the host glowingly repeated his genuine affection for Mr. Henkel's town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. "Where you are living right now, I've been up there on vacation. That is the prettiest place. And the blueberry pancakes up there, and they have these lobster rolls and the food is fantastic. The people are nice. The weather's nice - three months a year. And, you live in the best place. I admire you for a lot of reasons." Mr. Henkel warmly expressed his appreciation, "Well, thank you."

Both Mr. Henkel and the entire TruthBearer.org organization are grateful to Ken Hoffman and "1560 The Game" Houstin radio program for providing the opportunity to let the real issues about polygamy to be presented. The entire TruthBearer.org organization is grateful indeed for such a positive, entertaining, and fun interview..
