Portland Phoenix Reports: "Play-by-play":
Maine Public Hearing on Same-sex Marriage
On April 22, 2009, a Public Hearing was held in Augusta, to debate (the then-pending) new "same sex marriage" law in Maine. Mark Henkel, the Founder of the TruthBearer.org organization, also gave a presentation at the Public hearing, speaking "Neither For Nor Against." In the Aptil 30, 2009 issue, reporters Deirdre Fulton and Emily Parkhurst
reported the Hearing's timeline.
In one appropriate paragraph, they also reported on Mark Henkel's involvement.
1:30 pm
People who were neither for nor against the bill are invited to express their thoughts. Mark Henkel, who represents a non-Mormon polygamist group based in Old Orchard Beach, offers polygamy between consenting adults as a solution to the discord, suggesting that the government stay out of defining marriage altogether. "If (a child) can have two mommies, then she should be able to have two mommies and a daddy," he says.
Regarding the above paragraph, the reporters genuinely performed a good job indeed.
