Yes, the evidence is manifest. As the uncomely member, I have acted in love and in Scripture. Those who have spitefully rebuked and rejected me have not acted in love and in Scripture. Thus it is made manifest who has been walking in the Spirit because of the evidence of the Fruit of the Spirit. And, as Jesus explained, "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." (Matthew 7:20.)
I would not have any one ignorant: Scripture truly reveals who are the ones manifesting the righteous and holy Fruit. "((T))rue worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth". (John 4:23c.) By the spirit (Holy Ghost) and the truth (Holy Scriptures) can such be discerned. If one walks in the Spirit, one manifests the Fruit of the Spirit. If one walks in the truth, one walks according to the Scripture. As Paul wrote in 1_Corinthians 14:32-33: "And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
That is, when God uses men, the words which the Holy Ghost uses will not contradict the Scriptures that have gone before. Indeed, the Lord proclaimed, "the scriptures... testify". (John 5:39[a],[c].) As Paul wrote, "the holy scriptures... are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." (2_Timothy 3:15[a]-17.) And in the passage of 2_Peter 1:15-21, Peter proclaims that Scripture provides an even "more sure word" than even personal experience!
What is the spirit of truth? "Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another". (1_John 4:6d-7b.) Indeed and "therefore love is the fulfilling of the law." (Romans 13:10b.)
Truly, love is the basis of the Two Great Commandments in Mark 12:29-31 and Matthew 22:37-40, to love God completely and to love one's neighbor as one's self. And our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ therein concluded, "On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." On the Two Great Commandments, to love, hang all of Scripture, the truth. And love is the very first Fruit of the Spirit!
